The Sun Mushroom from Brazil

Medicinal mushrooms are at home all over the world: from the coldest north, where the Chaga grows in birch forests, to warmer regions where the ABM thrives and unfolds its sunny energy.

The name ABMAgaricus blazei murrill – goes back to the American mycologist W. A. Murrill. However, the medicinal mushroom is also known by many other names that reflect its origin, its sunny growth, or its special properties. In Brazil, it bears the name Agaricus brasiliensis, in reference to its homeland. Because of its preference for warm temperatures and bright locations, it is called the "Sun Mushroom" (Cogumelo do Sol). In its homeland, it is also called the "Mushroom of Life" – Cogumelo de Vida. Its fine almond scent and taste earned it the nickname "Almond Mushroom".

Many medicinal mushrooms have a long history and spread in sometimes unusual ways. For the ABM, it was Japanese coffee growers who brought it from Brazil to their homeland and cultivated it there. From there, it found its way into the world.

The ABM is cultivated by MycoVital in Limeshain on straw substrate – exclusively in summer, to come as close as possible to its natural conditions. In this way, sustainability, experience and respect for nature are combined, and a medicinal mushroom of the highest quality, which carries the sun, vitality and naturalness within it, is cultivated.
